Released in 2003, Sufjan Steven's Michigan was the first of a proposed project to do an album for all 50 states. Although Sufjan only ended up doing two, Michigan and Illinoise, this indie folk/acoustic album is incredibly beautiful. Sufjan's excellent instrumentation and gentle voice provide a peaceful, melancholy listening experience. Pressed on black vinyl, double LP.
